Kodiak completed her Junior Hunter Title on 10/3/98 at the Cuyahoga Valley Golden Club hunt test in Hamden, Ohio.

Kodiak completed her Senior Hunter Title on 5/9/99 at the Greater Pittsburgh Golden Retriever Club hunt test in Pittsburgh, PA.

Kodiak completed her Master Hunter Title on 7/24/99 at Western New York Retriever Club hunt test in Tonawanda, NY.

Kodiak completed her Championship on 9/4/99 at the Lexington Kentucky Kennel Club show in Lexington Kentucky.

Kodiak completed the requirements for her Working Dog Qualified certificate on 10/3/99.

Between 2000 and 2005 Kody retired to enjoy being Ray Heintel's personnel hunting companion. She also helped Kathy teach many owners how to experience and appreciate working with a well trained dog in the hunt field.

Kodiak took second place in Veterans, 8 to 10 year old bitches at the American Chesapeake Club National Show Specialty October 11 -16, 2005 in Frederick, Maryland.

Kodiak took first place in Veteran's Sweepstakes 10+ years old. 2008 Cheapeake National October 10, 2008 in Massachusetts.

Although Kodiak was always my husbands dog first, she did allow me to complete her championship title, junior hunter, senior hunter, and master hunter titles with style and the help of a few of my friends. She completed all of those titles before she was two and one half years old. She is a very quick learner and energetic worker. She is honest in the field, loves all types of work, will sit in the blind for hours and would forgive you when you miss, again. She is always a lady of quality and the lead bitch around the house. Since retirement she has been enjoying sleeping on the bed, being in the workshop and hunting with Ray and eating, what more could a girl ask for?

Kodiak even passed away in style. She layed down in front of the fireplace on December 6, 2008 and went to sleep forever. Ray was working at the computer across the room from the fireplace, she was never very far away from him. She will be remembered for all the fun she brought to our lives, all she taught us about winning, and all the birds she retrieved for our table. She will be missed greatly by her best companion my husband Ray.
